Camp/Clinic Information

General Information

Camp/Clinic Overview:

Our gymnastics camps provide a unique opportunity for young athletes to improve their skills in a supportive and challenging environment. Led by experienced coaches from Rutgers Gymnastics and other guest instructors, campers will focus on skill development, drills, choreography, stretching, strength training, and overall fitness. Each day, athletes will participate in training on all four competitive events, as well as additional activities such as tumble track, trampoline, dance, and strength/flexibility exercises. In addition to gymnastics, campers will engage in recreational activities, build friendships, and hear from inspiring guest speakers during breaks.


Who Can Attend:

  • Female gymnasts, ages 7 - 18 years only.
  • Athletes will be grouped based on their skill level and age to ensure an appropriate and safe learning experience.


Registration & Fees:

  • Summer 2025 Camp Fee: $600.00 per camper (for a typical session)
    • Fee includes tuition, lunch, a camp gift, and other activities.
  • Fall Clinic 2025: $200.00 per camper
    • Fee includes tuition, a camp gift, and other activities.
  • Skill Clinics: $55-$75 per gymnast
    • Fee includes tuition only
  • Post Meet Clinics: can vary based on length.
    • Fee includes tuition only, gift may vary depending on clinic.
  • Payment must be completed within a few days of registration.


Summer Camp/Fall Clinic Schedule:

  • Drop Off: 9:40 AM - 10:00 AM
  • Activities & Practices: 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM
  • Pick Up: 5:00 PM - 5:15 PM
  • Note: A detailed schedule will be provided closer to the camp date. The schedule is subject to change.
  • Drop Off/Pick Up: Gymnasts are to be dropped off and picked up as designated times above. 
  • Parents will be able to view camp/clinic during specified viewing hours of the camp. Otherwise, spectators will not be permitted inside the gym. This is to keep the gymnasts focused on their training, to optimize their safety and learning!


Skill Clinics / Post-Meet Clinics

  • Drop off / Pick Up times can vary. Please do not arrive more than 15 minutes prior to the start.
  • Please have your gymnast ready to warm-up at the start time of the clinic.
  • Length is typically an hour, but can vary.
  • Skills we've had clinics for: Basics, Back Handspring, Back Tuck, Glide Kip, Vault (General), Front Handspring Vault, Yurchenko Vault.
    • Is there a particular clinic you would like to see? Let us know!
  • Any further details will be provided via email if necessary.
  • Please exit the building promptly after clinic commences.


Location:

  • All camps and clinics are held at the Rutgers Gymnastics Facility, located in the RWJBarnabas Health Athletic Performance Center at 95 Rockefeller Road, Piscataway, NJ 08854.
  • With the exception of Post-Meet Clinics, which may occur in Jersey Mike's Arena right next door to our facility.

Attire & What to Bring

Attire: 

Athletes should wear a leotard and shorts.


Footwear: 

Bare feet only.


Hair: 

Any long hair must be tied back away from the face.


Jewelry:

No jewelry allowed except stud earrings.


Please Bring:

  • Grips or braces needed for practice.
  • A water bottle.
  • Supportive shoes for outdoor activities.
  • Materials for theme days (if applicable).
  • Further necessary items will be sent via email.

Drop off & Pick Up Procedures

Permission to Leave: 

Children will only be allowed to leave with adults listed under the "Permission to Leave With" section of the registration form. A photo ID will be required to check out a camper.


Prompt Drop-Off & Pick-Up: Please ensure your child is dropped off and picked up on time, as we are not responsible for supervision before or after camp hours.


Parents will be able to view camp/clinic during specified viewing hours of the camp. Otherwise, spectators will not be permitted inside the gym. This is to keep the gymnasts focused on their training, to optimize their safety and learning!

Group Placement

Campers will be placed in groups according to their competitive level and age. After the first day, if necessary, the camp director may reassign athletes to a more appropriate group. Grouping decisions are made at the discretion of the camp staff and will be based on the camper's skill level. Requests to move groups may not be honored if staff feels they are in the group best fit for their training. 


Please note: Requests to be placed with specific friends or teammates may not be accepted if it’s not aligned with the best training experience.

Parking Information

Detailed parking information will be sent prior to camp start. Non-affiliates must register for a digital permit. Please complete the provided form to secure parking in the appropriate lots. We are not responsible for any parking tickets incurred.


Parking Permits for Post-Meet Clinics will not be needed

 Scarlet Knights Gymnastics Camp is privately owned by the Rutgers Gymnastics Head Coach under the SKGA, LLC organization.
